This cd has been out for a while, and its always been on my list of something "that I want to pick up but always picked something over it". It turns out that Sorry About Dresden is something that I should have picked up earlier.
Sorry About Dresden (S.A.D.)is a band that puts it collective heart on its collective sleeve. They also leave their musical influences out their for everyone to see. Hailing from Chapel Hill, NC they have definitely had lots of the Archers of Loaf sound brush off on them. Yet, S.A.D. doesn't come across as a one dimentional band. Along with the Archers Of Loaf sound enters a harder sound, a la Cursive and Fugazi, yet the gangly indie rock comes through to steady the sound. The lyrics are emotional and the tempo isn't too fast or too slow (with the exception of track 8 which is a draggingly slow song). Although the sound is good and the lyrics are good, something is missing that is keeping S.A.D. from being great--I look for their next release to be even better.
