Well, this here band is the offshoot of Bright Eyes. Conor Oberst, the brains behind Bright Eyes heads up this new plugged-in sonic thug of a band. They've got the gritty sound of a garage punk plus anger gig working pretty well for them. The melodies are just as gorgeous as those from Mr. Obert's previous work and the vocal hooks are just as righteous and self-loathing too.
This is just a three song single/EP preceding their forthcoming full-length "Read Music - Speak Spanish." "The Happiest Place on Earth" is the single from the album and the other two songs, ("What's New for Fall" and "Give Me the Pen"). I suggest you pick this single/EP up just because. It should be relatively cheap at your local vendor, check it out, if you like it, get the full length - and if you don't like it, i suggest you don't get the full-length. Think Les Savy Fav and Weezer. Yeah, do that.
